As a social enterprise, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to corporate social responsibility. Attention has been paid to ensure that corporate social responsibility informs our operations and that our employees actively embrace the same.
In 2017, Sameer Africa sponsored various charitable institutions including the annual fundraiser of St. Aloysius Gonzaga School in Kibera, Nairobi with Kshs. 30,000/-. The school brings together children orphaned by HIV and those who are suffering from HIV and it equips them with technical knowledge to help them grow as self-starters in life. Sameer Africa also sponsored the annual Kenya Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (KSPCA)fundraiser event with Kshs. 40,000/- . KSPCA is the main charitable organization caring for the welfare of animals in Kenya with the objective of promoting their protection. The company also donated tyres and Kshs. 120,000/- to Little Sisters of the Poor, a charitable institution caring for the elderly poor in Kenya. The institution depends solely on charity and donations to keep it afloat and provide for the destitute.
Sameer Africa also sponsored and participated in a number of events that directly linked the company to its customers. These included the Agricultural Society of Kenya shows in Kisumu, Eldoret, Nakuru and Nyeri. There were also Kenya Mining Forum and Agritec events, the World Ploughing Contest and the Sasini Coffee Millers open day.
As part of the Sameer Group of companies, Sameer Africa contributed to the sponsorship of the Furaha Sports Festival with Kshs. 800,000. This festival is a sporting event that brings together participants from all over the world and has over the years served as a valuable platform for companies and partners to expose their products and services. These sponsorships provided a significant opportunity for the company to enhance its visibility and directly sell its products to potential customers.
